Four decades serving Cambodian children

1998

Official creation of Aide aux Enfants Cambodgiens – Foyer Lataste

Creation of the Association Aide à l’Enfance du Cambodge by a group of French volunteers, in response to the ravages of the Khmer Rouge and the famine that was devastating the country.

1998

Opening of Foyer Lataste

Establishment of the first permanent home in Sisophon, named in honour of Father Lataste. Welcome of the first orphaned and abandoned children in a secure family setting.

1999

First steps towards education

Inauguration of Somras Komar primary school opposite Foyer Lataste.

2000

Creation of the student programme

First post-secondary support to break the cycle of poverty.

2012

Creation of the tutoring centre at Foyer Lataste

Open to children from the home as well as from the village, this place aims to promote equal opportunities by providing tailored support and a learning-friendly environment.

2023

Inauguration of the eco-farm

Launch of the ecological farm project : livestock, market gardening and vocational training. The eco-farm becomes a teaching tool and contributes to the home’s food self-sufficiency.

Today

30 years of presence

Over 200 children supported, dozens of partners mobilised, and hundreds of loyal sponsors every year.
